We Are Wayua, Inc. is the brainchild of Tamara Coley, who had an engaging, dynamic, and transformative experience in Kenya while in college 25 years ago. Having fallen in love with the country, she vowed to come back and make it possible for more people to have a similar experience. It was not until the untimely passing of her Kenyan sister, Wayua, that she began to take tangible steps. She transformed her grief into motivation to do something that would honor her beloved sister and her American, Kenyan, and global communities. We Are Wayua was born.
